Illinois

I was born in Bloomington, Illinois in the center of the state. My family moved around and we lived in places near Peoria to the north and near Belleville and Collinsville to the south. It is here where I began my interest in photography at a young age, buying my own camera equipment after I started working and later taking college courses in the subject. When I moved out of my family home and into my first apartment the first order of business was establishing a darkroom in the bathroom. I put an enlarger on the toilet seat and put pans of developer, fixer and water inside of the toilet tub.
